Adamu is an aggregator and head of his household with two wives from Gombi community in Adamawa state. As a participant under the Youth in Work project, he participated actively in the gender transformation sessions that seek to promote women engagements in livelihood and business activities.

“I came back after one of the sessions and told my wives of the training we received, how it can be beneficial to us and how I also intend to support them with capital and also a few bags from the one I aggregate so that she can also start alongside me”, Adamu mentions.

The family burden on Adamu is now less since he supported his wives to engage in retailing of groundnut, maize among others. “my wives now assist me in taking care of some family needs. Sometimes even without my knowledge, they buy firewood, pepper and other times from the profit they make”, Adamu narrates.

“From the profit I make, I now support him (my husband) in taking care of some responsibilities. Through this, we were also able to change school for our children to where they can get better education”. Fatima adds (Adamu’s wife)
