“Before this program, I gave less concern to observing food safety and hygiene while processing my product. More so, my production level was low likewise the turnover but now I have learnt how to keep my environment clean and practice good hygiene alongside better product packaging”, Sirandu mentions.
Sirandu is a mother and female processor who was on-boarded as a participant under the Youth in Work Project from Guyuk. Through the capacity strengthening sessions, she learnt valuable lessons, applied to it her business and how is happy to share the strides she is making.
Her processed groundnut cake doesn’t only sell in Guyuk metropolis but other interior communities such as Dukul – she explains more. Through the Youth in Work Project, the success of Sirandu, tells of how WFP is changing lives through capacity strengthening for increased income in Adamawa state.
